The 8x32 Leica Ultravid HDs were greatly improved by the use of high-density, fluorite-containing lenses and the addition of Leica’s AquaDura water-shedding coating. The Leica Ultravid HDs combine light weight with remarkable optical performance. Ultravid HD binoculars have P40 phase-corrective coatings on the prisms and the HighLux System to ensure the brightest, high-contrast images while minimizing the impact of stray light. |

Fluoride lenses With the help of the new fluoride (FL) lens glass, in each Leica HD model, both the colour fidelity and image contrast are further improved. Optical FL lenses are to a large extent made up of calcium fluoride. Unlike conventional optical lenses, this creates a very low level of dispersion (light scattering) and corrects aberration (imaging errors) significantly better. So, as a result, the viewing experience is more natural and impressive than it has ever been before. |

Increased light transmission As a result
of constant development of the anti-reflex coating and reflective layer
on the prisms, it has been possible to increase the previously already very

have been able to extend the field of view by up to 15 %, demonstrating
the latest technologies in the manufacturing of high quality binoculars.
These binoculars are made at our parent plant in Wetzlar, a further reference
for highest optical performance.

The new APO-HG binoculars deliver maximum performance in every discipline. For instance, the 21 layers of the M* multicoating and the silver-bearing Minobright reflection of the phase-corrected roof prisms. Excellent handling of the binoculars is made possible using the Quick-Close-Focus (QCF) feature developed by MINOX. Just a single turn of the focusing knob is enough to adjust a sharp image from infinity to close-up, enabling a very fast adjustment in the near-focus range and precision focusing at greater distances. The MINOX APO-HG line also features very high quality ED glass and offers the user an outstanding optical performance for superb viewing.
